Day 327 ~ Thunderbird Mountain Glendale, AZ

February 15th, 2017 ~ Day 327

Meeting Eric at the trailhead, we began our hike from the 67th Avenue parking lot. We headed out along the flat trails along 67th. It was around 6pm when we started and as you hike along this section of the trails, all you hear is the noise from the rush hour traffic. Not quite a peaceful hike, but it’ll do to keep me going on this journey. Today is another one of those days where there is just too much to do and not enough time for hiking, so we are making it a quick mile loop.

The sun shining brightly making the mountain glow and turning it a beautiful shade of red. I felt lucky to capture the image, along with the hot air balloon hanging over head.

We made our way through our little loop in no time. The trails on this section of the park have no elevation, so we can hike even faster than usual. It only took us about 20 minutes to complete our hike. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to make it to the trails and continue on this journey no matter how small a hike may be.
