February 14th, 2017 ~ Day 326
❤❤❤Happy Valentine’s Day ❤❤❤
A Valentine’s Day hike with the best boyfriend ever! What more could this girl ask for? Our hike began heading north on the Circumference Trail at Deem Hills. A beautiful evening for a hike and I get to spend it with my love! The hot air balloons were flying high off in the distance. Little specks littered the sky.
The balloons still hanging in the sky, just a little more visible as we came to the far north end of the trail. The colors of the desert alive with the sun beginning to set, off to the west.
As we were turning to head south, the view of the prarie below shocked me. There is still so much green! Eventually as summer arrives, the green will become dried up and turn different shades of brown. So I am enjoying the green as much as I possibly can.
Making our way to the saddle, the clouds were beginning to turn a golden color. I was anticipating the wonderful display our Arizona sunset would give us tonight.
The sunset didn’t disappoint. Even though the actual sunset is hidden behind Deem Hills, the clouds in the sky began to turn into a fiery red.
Coming over the saddle and now heading west, we caught what was left of the sunset. Another beautiful display of colors across the horizon.
Just before we made it back to the trailhead, I had to snap a picture of my Valentine. We did a total of 2.82 miles, and with that I’m taking that mileage from the last time I hiked this trail. My tracker didn’t turn on for the entire hike. Oh well, it was a great day for a hike!
