Day 319 ~ Thunderbird Mountain Glendale, AZ

February 7th, 2017 ~ Day 319

Today I chose to go hiking alone. I just felt that need. Parking at the 67th Avenue parking lot, I was able to get the last available spot towards the end of the lot. I decided since I was on this end, I would hike up the road to get to the trail on the other side of my usual uphill starting point.

Once on the trail, it began as a flat trail through the desert. The grass so green against the dirt from the trail. I was only on the trail a short while before I ended up back on a road again, making my way back to the other side of the mountain.

Once on the trail again, facing east, I was grateful to catch a little bit of color from the sun hanging over the White Tank Mountains. A beautiful glow hanging above the mountain range. I do love our Arizona sunsets.

Today was just a little bit better. I still didn’t want to be here, but I did it. A quick hike to accomplish my goal and continue on this journey
