Day 265 ~ Thunderbird Mountain Glendale, AZ

December 15th, 2016 ~ Day 265

The countdown begins…only 100 days left in my challenge of hiking everyday for 365 days!

The moon still bright and full greeted me at the trailhead this morning. I parked in the center lot off 59th Avenue and headed uphill. That first little climb always takes my breath away. Hiking along in the dark, no one was out on the trails.

Once I was at the peak of the mountain I could see the beginning of what would be the sunrise. The colors of the sky were so deep and rich, surrounded in darkness made it more astoundingly beautiful. My camera can never capture the real beauty that surrounds me on the trails, but I try.

Still dark, yet it began to look a little brighter, the colors continuing to amaze me. I wish I could stop on the trail to enjoy the sunrise, but there is work today. One day I’ll have no time limit and get the opportunity to enjoy exploring the outdoors everyday. I finished my 1.6 mile hike with dreams of that day. Life is good!

Join me on my journey of hiking everyday for 365 days, to see all that I can see! Never miss out on a post and “like” me on Facebook and for more photos follow me on Instagram!
