May 28th, 2016 ~ Day 64
Today started out with the intention of hiking Mt. Evans, but the road to the top of the mountain was closed due to ice on the road. We waited over an hour to see if it would open before deciding to do another trail.
We decided to go to Hanging Lake. It was a couple hour drive from trail to trail, and the hike made it so it was worth every moment!
The parking lot of the trail is next to the Colorado River. To actually see it without hiking the Grand Canyon was pretty awesome.
The trail was straight up. A natural stair master. It was right next to a river and because it was up hill, it was a constant waterfall.
At the top was a huge waterfall that poured into a lake. Hence Hanging Lake. It was beautiful! I love the beauty of nature Colorado has to offer.
